Well, I made it to Woodpine Valley. My parents helped set me up with enough money to build a nice house with a view of the lighthouse and the lake. I feel a bit bad that my house is nicer than the other houses, but I am the Mayor, after all. I deserve a nice house for me and my cat, right?

As soon as I got all settled in with my few belongings and made sure that I still had a job set up back in Sim City to help found my own town, I made sure to give Sherbet some love. He wasn’t thrilled to be moving across the country, but I also couldn’t stand the idea of leaving him behind.

Sherbet is actually based on my real life cat who we’ve had since he was a kitten. He’s seventeen now and luckily still fairly healthy. I don’t even want to think about what happens if he gets sick…

I put my glasses on (they were safely in their case so they didn’t get broken during the move) and then I planted some tomatoes and made some hot dogs. I’m not a big fan of hot dogs, but with no electricity, there aren’t a lot of other options right now. Cheyenne promised she can figure out how to get us electricity and running water out here, and I hope that happens soon.

Talking about founding a city without water or electricity is one thing…actually living it is completely different and I don’t know how long I’ll survive. And it’s only my first day!

Nichola Grayling walked by, and I eagerly greeted her. I moved here ahead of everyone else to make sure that everything was set up and ready for them, so I didn’t actually get a chance to really meet my other founders. We all come from different areas too, so it’s not like I really knew them before this. We just all happened to sign up at the same time and got picked for this expedition.

While I was talking to Nichola, Sherbet was upstairs napping on my bed. I think he’s glad that we moved.

After a few more hours of talking to Nichola and a quick dinner of leftover hot dogs, I finally crawled into bed, eager for my first day of work.

I just couldn’t resist taking a picture of Sherbet using the litter box. He makes the same face that my Sherbie makes. XD

Sherbet ruined my chair! I even bought him a scratching post, so I’m not sure why he didn’t use the post. Oh well. I didn’t really need the chair anyway, if I’m being honest. I’m okay with standing to eat my food. Eventually I’ll be able to afford a dining set.

Sherbet woke me up way too early, so I spent some time teaching him some of his tricks, starting with Come Here. If I can teach him some cool tricks, I should be able to easily get him a job. I’d feel a bit bad sending him to work, but it’s that or have him around the house, scratching up all my furniture while I’m gone.

Once the sun came up, I took a quick bubble bath and then headed off to work. It’s a bit awkward having my bathtub outside, but it’s the best way for me to get water out there. I can’t wait until Cheyenne figures out running water! Showers will be so much quicker in the morning.

I had a long day of work, and I missed Sherbet more than I thought I would. Is that crazy, or what? He’s a cat and he can’t even talk to me, but I missed him so much while I was at work. Hopefully things will get better and I’ll get a promotion soon.

I managed to teach Sherbet to Come Here as well. One trick down, way too many to go.

Sherbet sat on the couch next to me while I did the crossword. Without a phone to call the other people living in Woodpine Valley, life is a bit boring as I just wait for people to walk by.

Cheyenne Norris finally walks by and I’m able to greet her. We’re not off to a great start. Honestly, I didn’t get off to a great start with any of the other ladies. Maybe they’re all upset that my house is bigger than theirs? I honestly don’t know. Luckily we were all able to get over our differences pretty quickly, but it still sucks.

Kitty Olsen and Keika Tucker walked by too, so I greeted both of them. It’s been a long time since I’ve been surrounded by this many people!

Kitty spent most of her time just sniffing the flowers. A bit odd, but they do smell good. I’m just glad they don’t seem to make my allergies act up.

With so many guests over, I opted to make some hamburgers for dinner. I can’t wait until I can get a stove and make some grilled cheese or macaroni though. Man do I miss cheesy foods. I didn’t think I would miss them this much.

I was able to snag a promotion on my second day of work.

Another long day of work calls for some kitty cuddles and playtime. I just feel so bad leaving poor Sherbet home alone all day. Maybe I should see about adopting another cat somehow so that he can have someone to play with. I don’t think any cat adoption places will be willing to drive out this far, so I might have to try and convince a stray to move in.

Since I have Friday off, I take full advantage of a day to sleep in. What with work and being woken up in the middle of the night by Sherbet, I haven’t really been able to sleep in since moving out here. Not that I really got to sleep in much back home, if I’m being completely honest.

Cheyenne walked by again just as I was starting to wish I had someone to talk to. She didn’t stay for long, but I feel like we’re finally becoming friends.

I was able to harvest my first tomatoes! They turned out a lot nicer than I was expecting them to. I honestly forgot about them, but luckily they stayed well watered with all the rains this season.

Looks like Sherbet found the catnip toy and had to take a quick nap to sleep off the effects. Does this make my cat a druggie?

I had a rough day at work and snapped at one of my co-workers, so I decided I should probably study some Anger Management so that it doesn’t happen again. I really can’t afford to be fired. Our town building expedition is contingent on me becoming Mayor. If I don’t do that, we might have to quit and move back home! I really don’t want to do that to the girls, so I need to stay on top of it.

I’m not actually going to quit this if she gets fired, but I’m trying to add some realism or whatever

Cheyenne and I are officially best friends now! I’m so glad that I’m getting along so well with at least one fifth of the founding party. Hopefully the other three will be easy to befriend as well. I feel like I’m getting close to Keika and Kitty, but Nichola hasn’t walked by much.

I end the season by starting to teach Sherbet how to roll over. I just think it would be super cute to watch him rolling around on the ground, if I’m being honest.
