Woodpine Valley // Week 1 Grayling
Dec. 4th, 2018 07:20 pm

Nichola starts off her week by planting some tomatoes. In a small valley like this with no easy access to groceries, everyone will need to fend for themselves until the town has grown in size.

Once her plants have been started, Nichola eagerly eats some cereal for breakfast. The drive in to Woodpine Valley had been longer than she was originally expecting it to be, so she was in desperate need of a good meal.

Kitty and Keika both walk by the house. Nichola greets them and spends some time talking about how the expedition is going so far. Even though they’ve only been in town for a few hours, they all agree it’s off to a nice start.

Nichola gets started on a sewing project and then makes some hot dogs for dinner. To her surprise, Keika and Kitty are still at the house, even though Nichola had retreated to her sewing room and wasn’t paying attention to them. They gladly accept some hot dogs before heading to their separate houses.

Since there aren’t a lot of people living in the valley so far, Nichola doesn’t bother to change out of her pajamas the next morning when she goes out to water her plants. It’s not like anyone would even see anything with her pajamas being as long as they are. Literally everything important is covered.

Cheyenne walks by a few hours later, so Nichola takes a break from sewing to run out and greet her. Things get off to a kind of rocky start, but they’re soon telling each other jokes and playing hacky-sack.

Carissa walked by as well, and Nichola was all too eager to greet the main founder and future Mayor. Even though she was young, Carissa was a big part of why Nichola had signed up to even do this. When she heard who the first settler was, she quickly put her name into the ring and just hoped she would be picked.

Nichola cleans up around her house a bit before working on another sewing project. Her dream is to one day open up a family business where she sells hand-crafted items. First, she needs a lot of hand-crafted items to sell. Second, she needs a family to run the business with.

Keika stopped by for lunch, and Carissa walked by and was invited in as well.

By the end of the week, Nichola earned her Gold Sewing Badge because of all the sewing she had done.
As per @resurrectonomitron‘s request, Nichola started off with a silver sewing badge. I also randomized everyone’s traits, but Nichola was the only one to start with any badges.

Before too long, Saturday had arrived, along with Nichola’s tomatoes. She gladly spends the morning picking them and putting them away in the fridge. Hopefully now her lunch meat sandwiches will be just a little bit better!

Cheyenne walked by and since she and Nichola had gotten pretty close, Nichola feels confident enough to tell a dirty joke. Luckily Cheyenne finds it funny and not offensive.

Before too long, Nichola and Cheyenne become best friends.

Nichola sends Cheyenne home and then takes a bubble bath before crawling into bed.

Sadly, a burglar shows up and steals her bookcase and sofa. With no police department in Woodpine Valley, there’s no one to stop her. Nichola doesn’t even realize until the morning that anything happened. The burglar is so good at what she does that she didn’t make a sound.

As soon as she realizes what happened, Nichola looks in the newspaper. She finds the number for the police department in SimCity and asks about starting a department here in Woodpine Valley. She’s told that as long as she’s willing to commute to SimCity, they’ll let her join the ranks. Nichola wastes no time in signing up. Someone has to keep this city safe.
The burglar unlocks a position in Law Enforcement and I felt like it made sense for the person who got robbed to become the cop. As soon as Nichola maxes the career and builds a police station, burglar alarms will be available for everyone. Crossing my fingers it happens soon!
